I've recently opened www.needtorrents.com, a torrent search engine at the moment it only has very little torrents index, although within a week it should have thousands. When that time comes, i will need to work on getting hits for the site, but how do you think i should go about this? Terry
participate in relevant forums, market your site that way... put the link in your signature and offer active members some cash to also put your link in THEIR signatures. I guarantee this will work. - SEO - Banner ads on relevant websites You could also email your friends and ask them to email their friends and so on... guerrilla marketing (sp?) - DIGG IT! (if you can)
Well I've got an idea, do you think you can whip up a mini-version of the search, something supporting sites could put in a sidebar or feature in a rectangle? It's cool, if people can post torrents to some useful files to their viewers, and then include the search form (or link such as "related torrents") that takes them to your search website for example... and then make it easy for people to copy the code into their websites. Still many possibilities...
thanks for the suggestions, phree_radical, when you say mini-version do you mean something that others can put on there websites?
Yea that would be cool then you could find people that publish software, or make some reviews sites...
this has been bothering me for awhile. if i put google adsense on a torrent site... wouldnt that be against its term of service? your not supposed to have pirated stuff on your sites right? but yet why do i see torrent sites have adsense on there?
well i see places like torrentspy or other movie forums that i goto for torrents and they offer torrents and i see adsense on there. they get lots of traffic too.
please be careful when opening torrent related site . u may be ended in legal terms .. it may bring u good traffic but the risk is high .. wait until u get the legal email then u will know ..
Well, there should be no legal risks on my side, i am purely linking to a website with the torrent files, and i'm not hosting them...
