    Hi,

Is it legal to host a torrent search engine?

If it doesn't host any .torrent files but just links to .torrent files provided by other sites?

    Thanks
    Dan

that i know of, only in Sweden. in Italy for instance (but in many other countries too) the federal court sentenced it was illegal. So sites like thepiratebay couldn't happen here. Unless you control every single file and make sure they don't violate copyrights.

I'm running a simple torrent search engine, it's quite simply a robot that crawls other torrent databases.
Then re-feeds them. For now, I'm leaving it up on a normal UK server,
Nobody has complained yet, and it's getting decent traffic.

    isn't isohunt.com something like this ?

MPAA are not letting Gary Fung off the hook....i can imagine the trouble this guy has to go through....

especially now that TorrentSpy founders have filed for bankruptcy for being sued for over 100 million usd...

i can imagine some big torrent site operators not living in hong kong or netherlands losing sleep.

kinda funny when google offers a far wider range of torrent and warez goods.

also funny youtube lives, while pornotube gets sued...

its all about who can afford the most expensive lawyers.
