Torrent Indexing Sites - Are they legal?

    Sites such as torrentz.com etc which don't actually host any torrent files themseleves, but just index and link to them on other sites, are they legal? Or is it a bit of a grey area?

    Does anyone have their own torrent indexing site?

    What about a site with absolutley no copyrighted torrents, eg just linux distros, open office torrents etc, that should be completley legal yea?

    yes it is as long as it doesn't hold any known torrents files
    i've made one of such type but in arabic cause i'm from middel east from kwuit

    i've made it and design also at goldrights.org they are the best in such types of business also they will build to me a calling and sms websites for biggest online business i'm gonna be in

    and also yes it is legal as long as you don't hold any torrents files on your server

    Note : they have a huge update of torrent flux system you gonna watching it
    it will improve your business for 90% at least

    by the way torrentz.com is 100% Trush sorry but i never seens it before but i saw it now and i can guarantee if you want to run one like this,you won't earn or even get more visitors

    look at this torrentz.com it is so ugly looks like a media garbber oh my lord
    100% looks bad and primitive if you know what i mean

    yes it is good business but should be more better than how torrentz.com looks like

    Well, I believe the law pretty much states that as long as you are not hosting the actual files, it is not illegal. However, morally it is something on the borderline because although bit torrent as a technology is not illegal but it seems that 99.9% of the time it is used for the distribution of copyright materials.

    To host such a site would in a way be aiding in the distribution of copyright materials so basically it depends on whether you are a person with a conscience or not.

    If the torrent site is used to host Open Source files then that would be legal as I've said the technology is legal, it is just the usage which would be subjective.
