Ok.. the other I was browsing through www.pegasusdirectory.com and I noticed there was a page dedicated to toplist for directories as a way to receive more traffic. My question to all is whether or not it's worth adding these toplist buttons (which are often pretty ugly) on your site?
yes it is definitely worth I think so and some of the top directories are own by Jimwestergen (topdirectorys.com I think so) They would also link back to you and you could also get some minimum traffic
The more innovative and creative directories are with new features and functions the more appealing the site will become Creativity will produce results and traffic Buttons some like, some do not, it is quite simply a matter of taste, which is what makes the marketplace so interesting as you are focussing on a huge multi-national audience with diverse likes and dis-likes
Well man, i can tell you from experience that some are worth it and some don't(because i made that page exactly to test this ). It depends what you are looking for...traffic or god links . There are a few that provide traffic, 4 of the top 10 traffic sources for me are topdirectories...won't tell you which though Others are a good source of a good quality link. That one is actually mine
I signed up with them a while back, most gave traffic but nothing to jump for joy about. You give them a sitewide link, you link gets buried in the deep pages. 3 months passes by they get a PR5, you get a PR1. The thing that gets me is the buttons. There is no standard, some are bigger than the other and when you have about 5 of those buttons your footer tends to look like the Rocky mountains, wish they would have a standard size or just a text link. They aren't bad if you're just starting, will give you a hundred visit a month.
