Toplist on subdomain?

Just looking for a little bit of advice :)

I have a network of pretty popular websites, they have good SE rankings and have been well indexed.

Im thinking about adding a toplist script on a subdomain of one of the sites, as a way to generate a little more traffic.

Does anyone know if this will incur any penalizing due to the number of outgoing links etc., and if so will it affect the domain as a whole or merely the subdomain?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, i meant a links toplist. Basically a script that ranks sites 1-10 on their incoming traffic to the toplist.

Im sure you've seen them before, here's a link to one: http://www.xtremetop100.com/
