i was wondering how you design a site like this? is it just a search engine in the site or what?

 

sites like what? you mean top lists in general? most of those use a script to create their lists (and most of those use the exact same one). check out hotscripts.com or resourceindex.com for available scripts.

Looks like it is the right address. It is a parked domain with Google ads on it.

...There has to be something against the Google TOS for that. It's a pretty nifty idea though.

Where does it get its' "top 4 sites" from? I typed in a couple of keywords and it delivered some wacky results. Looks like purely an Adsense making machine with little to no usability that I can see.

 

In the TOS it says
"No Google ad may be placed on pages published specifically for the purpose of showing ads, whether or not the page content is relevant."

This site is certainly breaking the terms of service and it isn't producing new content, so don't be impressed with it, because it won't last. It is even banned from msn, which tells you something.

 

I reported this site to Google. That's not something I regularly do, but when I see such a pathetic site breaking TOS, I can't help it. If you noticed, there is also hidden ad text at the top of the page (if you click anywhere above the search box, you just clicked an ad).

 

well if you look in alexa. it has been up for like 6 months. dont you think they would have canceled it by now. im sure a million people report it. it has other non google links, which sadly enough IS content. we are forgeting the questions i asked here. how do you think this site is built?

 

well I tried the top4sites and put in sex, it found no results and the google ad was for air conditioning

 

they are violating the TOS as no ad/serach box should be placed without any content.

 

Million people report it? Hyperbole what? Seriously, no one goes out of their way to report sites especially if you're part of the normal internet surfing mind-blob. I personally do report sites when it's something blatant and I was trying to report this the other day and I couldn't find the link to do this after five seconds of searching and gave up. If google actually gets a report about this site it'll take them 10 seconds to type in the URL, notice blatant TOS banning and press the big red blacklist button.
