there are a lot of article directories and I even own one myself that I posted above but other than my own article directory the only one i submit to is Ezine articles.

 

directory critic has a huge list of article directory. I like ezine, go article, amazines, articlebase, articledashboard.com etc.

 

Personally I think Ezine is best!

But I think its also good to submit to a few different ones

I will say Ezine itself can bring you more then 60% traffic and the rest add up only bring you 40% traffic
So, the most important is Ezine

The site I personally like best was not even listed: HubPages. Articles with them rank high on Google and the site is easy to use. Plus you can use your eBay and Amazon affiliate programs there.

I like Ezine, but you have to wait for articles to be approved and they don't allow affiliate links.

 

I just tried using ArticleGeek... here's my experience in a nutshell:

It made me register, log in, I submitted my article, it only allows one hyperlink (and makes you feel guilty about it too!), and then it asks for a reciprocal link (not mandatory). After all that, at the WAYYYYY bottom of the page, it says "Sorry, due to spam we're not accepting articles at this time".

Well, what did you expect? Googgle already knows that 99.999% of all article submissions are spam. So what do they do? They put all the duplicates and crappy rewrites in the supplemental index or they don't even bother indexing them. Article submissions are a complete waste of time. Why would you want to write a quality, unique article and then give it to someone else for one or two author box links back (Google does not count author box links anymore if you haven't noticed). The only one that makes out from article submissions is the ezine or website you are submitting it to - they use Adsense or some similar revenue source and the pages become loaded with links and your author box links get buried in all that and have very low click through rates. Instead put the articles on your own site - it's common sense.
