There is no such thing as a top 10. Everybody's view on this will be different, and of course, you might have noticed all those top 10 web hosts sites. Keep in mind those sites are affiliate based, in other words to earn money, and are not legitimate resources for comparisons of web hosts.

Not only that, but alot of people will say a top host is "top" because of what they offer. But in reality, if you see a host that offers 1000Gb bandwidth, chances are that host isn't very reliable (or at least oversold).

The best *shared* webhosting is a small company which runs their own server, and doesn't let it get overloaded.
You can find great deals, but you need to be willing to waste some money on the bad ones.

If you have budget buy directly from softlayer.com and hire someone for server management. There are lots of reputed companies offering complete server management.

High traffic websites are never good on shared hosting. If you are looking for fast web hosting for just one site, shift to VPS.

There is no top host or best host, there's only the best or top host for you. Since everyone's needs are different, one host may be excellent for one user, but terrible for another.

You might not need to shift to a vps IMO 2gbhosting might be the issue...

I'm thinking it may be a routing issue from 2gbhosting to Delhi, India. Try doing a traceroute or packet loss testing on each hop, you should be able to find the bad hop which is causing a problem. If the router causing the problem is outside of 2gbhosting's control, there's not much you can do but wait and hope it gets solved in the DC that's having the issue.
