So I was looking through the top twenty results in Google for my keyword that I will be using. The keyword is highly competitive. However a lot of the results are garbage. What's with these: 6th Result: keyword.warnerbros.com - Keyword obviously being my keyword. The title and sub domain contains the keyword. However when you go to the page it is a crappy page with a Batman Video and Advertisment on it. Nothing to do with the keyword. 8th Result: A YouTube video. It as over 4,500,000 views and is little over a years old. It also as around 1,000 back links. 9th Result: pizza.sandwich.net/keyword/keyword.html - This appears to be some sort of blog with one sub site (one web-page) about the keyword. Which is actually a name generator for my niche. However the rest is some random website. 11th Result: www.coloring.ws/keyword1.htm - This is a coloring picture site. It as some pictures on my niche and apparently ranks 11th because of this. 12th Result: www.imdb.com - A page on this website about a 30 minute anime episode on my niche. 13th Result: www.imdb.com - Same again however with an anime movie not episode. 14th Result: ######.warnerbros.com - ###### is not even a good keyword. Actually it is a useless short word that as been made up. Then the rest of the website is one page long. It is like the worst attempt to make a HTML web-page. Then it links to the flash site. Which SEO doesn't like flash right? 17th Result: Is another YouTube video. It is two years old, and as just over 2,000,000 views. It as 185 back links. 19th Result: www.dltk-kids.com/keyword/keyword.html - It is another coloring website with a couple of coloring pages again. Using the adwords tool. The search volume is 3,000,000 - 4,000,000 per month. There is 87,000,000 results in Google also. Why are such perfetic pages ranked in the top twenty? Is that perhaps the niche lacks webmasters who knows the features of SEO? As I am just starting to build up my website. I thought I would see if any of you guys have any comments on this. Do you reckon it would be possible for me to get in the top twenty? Also what's with YouTube, Wikipedia, and various other sites like these ranking high. Even though they only have like a page on the niche/keyword? Thanks, BlueEew.
