I Thinks you should gets some more traffic then this. can you show your key word to us that why this happen. i thinks it's has to be some problem at your end. like sites designing, content, why people leave your sites (bounce rate you should reduced it's.) etc.
Ideally to capture the maximum amount of traffic you want to be above the fold. So usually top 3-4 results will bring you the most traffic. From what I understand is each rank below you loose something like 20% traffic capture.
Keyword research goes a long way and saves a lot of time/money in the long run. Having a site optimized for keywords nobody searches for is typical of those new to seo. Reoptimize your pages and go for traffic! Good luck!
Keep working hard to get higher rankings still. When I search on Google, I rarely click on the 9th result, perhaps 5% of the time.
Here is another great read about how many clicks you can expect in each position: http://www.seoresearcher.com/distribution-of-clicks-on-googles-serps-and-eye-tracking-analysis.htm
I am on 8th no for a keyword which has 100000+ average monthly search volume but I dont get more then 100 visits daily from that keyword. Even the one who ranks first doesn't get that much traffic, and this shows that it is not that accurate.
I would like to say if you only keen on ranking for 1 or 2 keywords, you would not get a nice traffic even it rank No.1 on Google. You should use more relative keywords basing on the money keywords.
+1 Tweaking the description can also help the CTR of the #1 spot as well. Good advice That's right... 165k searches per month may sound a lot, but when you break it down to a daily number, then take into account the CTR you will get based on your position in the SERP's, it can be somewhat disappointing. . Maybe Google are counting searches on "all" of Google's TLD's and maybe your not #8 on all of them. ^^ See Maybe it is accurate after all Cheers James
There are several reason to get lower traffc such are given bellow. 1. How much drawing power does the page title and description have? Do they entice the searchers to click on your listing or are they likely to move on to the next one? 2. How often is the search term actually searched for? If the answer is rarely, you won't receive much traffic from it even if you're ranked #1 for it. 3. How competitive is the search term? If you do a Google search on a phrase that returns just a few thousand results (paltry by Google standards), this is a non-competitive search term that is likely to result in very low traffic levels. 4. How specific is the phrase you're targeting? As in our squash example, the more specific the phrase the fewer searches there will be for that phrase, resulting in low traffic flow from the ranking.
Most important is your Title, description and the short content which is displayed in the block of #9, go thru it and try to make it more attractive and interesting words. Second it depends on the keyword you are targeting. And it also depends if you have a blog on blogspot or on personal domain or a site I get my search result between #1 to #5 for my blogspot blog, however for the same keyword I get #15 for my website.
