Google is now my top referer. MSN were in the lead but are now a poor second. I'm still on page 1 of MSN for my main keyword but I'm only top of page 3 on google. This suggests that a top p3 google is much better than a p1 MSN. Do you agree?

    Aboslutely !!

This has always been the scenario on my stats as well with new sites. I really dont bother about MSN, because if you are optimizing for Google you are bound to get rankings on MSN but the vice versa doesn't work because you get ranked in MSN for very little effort which would not do any good woth Google.

I don't mean to undermine your capability or achievement, but from my experinece I can tell you..

    a) a page 1 rank in MSN doens't necessarily drive a lot of traffic
    b) A competition of 190,000+ is not really a big competition
    c) If you have your keyword in your domain name you have already won half the war with MSN
    d) Add the keyword to the title and you are on top for MSN
    e) A few directory submission and links will just stabilize the position further

Unless we see your site it is very difficult to give any more info.. however, the only advice I would give is ... go for Google !!
