As you probably know, it's quite profitable and it works if you set up a review page, talking about few top products, when advertising via PPC. However, I wanted to know, whether it would be a good idea to do that for Bum/Article Marketing? Instead of creating a landing page for just one product, you create a review page with few top products and then direct traffic to that page using keyword-targeted articles...... What do you think?
Should work, as long as the visitors are targeted enough to be interested in solving whatever problem it shouldn't matter where they actually come from.
I have a site that I setup that has generated a few sales. All I do is article marketing really (and some other bum marketing techniques), and it's seemed to have worked for me. Just like lemonarian says, vistors just need to be targeted, which generally happens in the case of bum marketing.
That's what I do. I have a few products on my review page. All I do is bum marketing. I get the urge every now and then to do PPC, but I always end up running away scared! My conversions are not too bad, even though I've hit a slump for the last two weeks. I really think the slump has to do with the design of my page....which I've been working on the past few days.
Barnes, it's the mastery curve, you're at a plateau, this is when you grit your teeth and now that another breakthrough is just around the corner... As for a comparison style review page, I haven't had too much success with it, but then again I've only attempted it once and in a very unique way. I'm sticking with my single product reviews, I can get 1:20 conversions with them without too much effort.
Review pages work in general and it doesn't matter how you get the traffic there, article marketing, PPC, organic the most important thing is getting the traffic to the page.
Ok, ok. I guess I will stay with my one-product review pages, because I am kinda used to them....Anyway I think both types of landing pages work, if you get the right traffic.
Great thread...Okay lets say that you decide to go the "few top products" route..my question is should these products be closely related (for instance "all dieting") or just "top products" (dieting, forex, SEO etc)!
definitely closely related. For example: It wouldn't make any sense at all to have something like this: "top products" #1 fat loss 4 idiots #2 water 4 gas #3 google nemesis instead you'd send diet traffic to a page that said #1 some diet product #2 some other diet product #3 another diet product I like to put them in order of commission earned I think it can be good to have a cheaper one at #3 for the cheapskates.
lol just finished reading some thread on these 3..not my idea of things to promote Thanks.. I can understand your comments about the order of "commission earned".. Since most people (at least my visitorslol) have short attention span, I like the idea of "biggest commission" first!
There is no right answer, I have tried various landing pages setups for the car on water niche, and I found out that a review with 3 top related products works best. Mind to say, I'm using free traffic.. no PPC. It's all about trial and error, make a review page in which 3 top related products are reviewed, make it look professional, give it a few days and see how it converts. Make a comparison of the multi product review vs the single product review (landing page) conversions , and whatever converts better stick with it
