Free and paid are both have their own benefits. Of course, the more money you spend the more traffic you're going to get. However, that isn't always the case when it comes to marketing. Here is a list of great traffic sources you can use for free along with paid. Don't forget quality and not quantity. So make unique accounts and reach out to users instead of just spamming links in hope to generate traffic. Focus on startup type networks first since you will generate quality leads instead of chasing after them on major sites. I would however stay away from Facebook likes and strictly promote post engagements. Pinterest ads are amazing and have generated massive amount of traffic with a couple eye catchy pins. All the sites listed have been used from personal experience. If you have any questions about any of these sites or any suggestions leave a comment and ill reply to you in this thread.
7 of the 20 sites in the free advertising column I've never heard of. Do you have a personal experience with all those sites? I am really curious how effective some of them actually are. By the way, reddit is pretty picky when it comes to advertising. The moment it sniffs you're trying to promote your own stuff - you're toast. I should try Pinterest, tho. I keep hearing it's an excellent way to promote stuff. I tried it in the past and didn't see much of anything, but it has really grown since then, I am sure it is way more effective today.
You'll be surprised how many hits some of these start up type sites will get you. I generally get 70% more traffic from the new upcoming sites then I do with the existing major sites. I'm surprised you haven't heard of any of them considering they're pretty big in upcoming marketing strategies. Of course, Reddit is extremely picky but posting quality posts along with the perfect sub-reddit and time of day you will strike gold. Pinterest is ok if you're promoting animals or lady type niches in the free section. However, Pinterest ads are amazing when it comes to niches that aren't extremely popular. I have 5 cent website clicks and I generally get about 20 re-pins before I get a website click. Plus you only pay for website clicks and not re-pins on Pinterest ads. Hopefully this helps! If you don't mind me asking which niches are you aiming for currently?
My niches vary, so any mode of advertising is equally interesting to me. Thank you for clarifying, appreciate it.
Anytime! Basically most affiliate marketers have a variety type of niches to promote. Send me a PM if you like and I can help you pinpoint what will help benefit you the most!
My areas of interest are self help, anxiety and panic attacks, weight loss and nutrition, internet marketing. I have recently tried Facebook ads for the first time with some success. I have never used Pinterest, but I am seriously considering giving it a go. Also never tried or really heard of Reddit. May also look at this. Given my interests, do you have any guidance on what you consider might be the best traffic sources.
I continue to think that the best way is having a good Twitter page and a good Blog with a nice audience. That list of traffic sources is interesting, but spending too much time on too many of those tools is distracting.
Seems like you have quite the amount of niches! Definitely social media would be the best result for you when it comes to majority of your niches. Internet marketing however you can definitely stick with the social bookmarking sites since they help your authority and give you long term backlinks. Facebook ads are a hit or a miss and depending how well you can optimize them will judge how well they do. Reddit is more of a short term burst of traffic and wouldn't be the best for your niches. However, they have a lot of different IM subreddits or relevant subs to post in. Overall, video marketing would be the best along with quality boards/posts on social bookmarking sites. Ya definitely pin-pointing the exact channel that works best for you is always good. Social media sites are ones you constantly have to update but for social bookmarking you can update them every so often since they're longer term.
