This is the most popular blog in Greece with tens of thousands maybe 100s of pageviews daily. It obviously has a premium adsense account because six ad units are displayed.Yet more than half of its content is copied.Any logical explanations regarding the 'original content' G rules are welcome.

Google will allow just anything as long as the site can give them money.

Or Google just overlook the site.

You got that right. Some would say that this happens because google hasn't found these sites yet.Well,it's hard not to notice a blog with a premium adsense account with 100s of thousands of pageviews every day.

as far as it is earning money for G, its fine for G, but not if its doing some copyright infringement. And ya, someday it will be banned.

its like a weighting scale.... G would obviously keep observing which side is going heavy, if the money it earns is not worth the image or reputation-downgrade G suffers or will suffer because of it, G will ban it. According to me even this post would make a slight difference because you have href'd the Greek blog's url and G-BOT would catch something negative written about it. like this post if there were a 100 posts in different forums, the google guys might check it out.

    or..

maybe the google guys havent checked out this site till now...
    btw, how old is it?

It is about 1 year old and it is supposed to be a continuation of this blog, the most popular blog in Greece ever whose owner was gunned down supposedly because of what he wrote about various scandals. But that's another story.

Well, that means system algorithm isn't advanced to know if the copy paste is an -original- or a -copy paste- for the greek site.

copyright violation only affect adsense publishers only if they got DMCA. at this point google will deindex the site or the copied content page and adsense account will get disabled.

as long as you have no DMCA. it's fine. you wont get banned simply because your competitor reported you. those emails directly goes to the dustbin.
