I read a great piece the other day. Gas prices in the 50's were like 33 cents/gallon. If you factor in for inflation, the gas price equals about $2.33 or something. So, in reality, gas prices have been raising below inflation for the past 50 years or so, and now its starting to kick in a little. At current, when the avg is about $2.50 nationwide, prices have only risen about 8% after inflation.
Well, fuel prices in SA suck balls. I drive at least roughly 52 km daily, and thats just to work and back, and that alone costs me nearly R800 a month, which is a fifth of my salary
I agree..partially. I have no sympathy for gas guzzlers, but for low income people and for people who drive all day for work, it is a big deal.
prices for regular unleaded have just bumped over $3 last night here. I topped off my car and that cost as much as I used to put in on a whole tank. Now I need to fill the van and that won't be pretty. I am just glad I don't have to drive to work.
2.99 in Wichita, Kansas as of 8am CST The good news is that several refineries in Louisiana have said they will most likely be operational within a week or two.
$2.999 today and a 32 gallon tank. Soon I'll be paying $100 to fill up. Oh well... I commute down my hall, so whatever.
Yeah, and the sucky part is is that R4000 a month is the entry-level salary for most computer-related industries, so every person entering the computer industry for the first time like me is being raped by the fuel prices
I just filled my boat up half way, 50 gallons, $167 took out and burned about 20 gallons in day glad I don't drive to work
