Hello, anyone tried out www.topdirectories.info ? I decided to list the KingBloom Directory there and it took just shy of 10 days to hit the number one spot.

    Thoughts? Comments?

My opinion is that topdirectories.info will be a valuable resource for everyone (*) soon, but not yet ;)

(*) Webmasters, directory owners, and of course topdirectories.info

I agree, it is new, but it is pretty cool. A great idea IMHO. Nice little web site too! Kudos to the guy that made it. I still do not know how I found it, but I sure like it!

It's really a cool idea, but most people don't want that banner on their sites. That’s why not many people join, maybe the banner should be smaller.

I don't mind. I just wanted to see how long it took KinBloom to hit the number one spot! It is a bit obnoxious. I'd like it if it were a bit less pronounced though, eg, smaller...

    Hi!

    I am the owner :)

Are you getting traffic from it mia? It has about 50 uniques a day and growing.

Thanks for the feedback about the button. As the ranking is based on how many average unique visitors you send to the site I decided to make it black so that it matches the site and also so that it gets noticed between all other sponsored listings etc. on the dir. But should I change it? I still kind of want to keep the "what is that?!" effect of the general directory visitor.

For those that don't like it you don't have to have it sitewide - some dirs only have it on the submit page for example, that's fine.

This site has a non-updated PR 5. If all goes right and enough people join I want it to get PR 6 on the update. You can see that the top 3 have no less than 3 nice static links to their dir from the home page of the site. That is good ROI IMHO.

I need some help on it actually and I can pay for that. If interested please see this thread and send me a PM.

    Anymore feedback?

EDIT: It is really new. Just about 2 weeks online but I can already see the success ...
EDIT: Mia, if you login you can write additional details for kingbloom that will be seen on your stat page.

Hehe, I submitted it to about 300 free dirs including yours with a description text that should work as an incentive to get the editor to join.

EDIT: I have two of my my own dirs there. There are at #6 and 7. I need to figure out a way to rank over Mia :)

Indeed a good job Jim. I joined, and have the codes for 22-3 directories of mine, will add it tonight.

I'm not certain, (though there is likely something) as I have not really had time to manually search through my logs. It's not in the top 1500 referrers, if that helps ;(

I think that size was the main complaint I've noticed. But then again, it is not that bad. Whatever works. I am sure as more people use it, you will get more feedback.

Noticed that. I will try to update that at some point :)

Ok, I likely saw it in our own directory when I was editing sites. That happens once and a while and is one of the problems with running a directory. You end up getting interested in some of the sites you are reviewing. I'm a sucker for anything HO Model RailRoading, or Motorcycle related, specifcally HD, Ducati or Triumph :)
