I've just compiled those AOL data to see how it differs from other sources. Here is the list most popular search engine keywords. The results seems very weird to me. Personally, Yahoo's Overture data seems to be a bit more accurate. Yes, Google trends is not accurate also, it generates different results if querying in different times (happend to me and some other people from this forum).
yes that is little diff , from that list we cant target any keywords because all top keywords are big sites, i htink google may have some other DB with more acc results.
I suppose, Google also has lots of searches like "yahoo.com", sometimes it happens to me as well as I have the Google Suggest Labs as the starting page. Then it depends on how quickly your system heats up, sometimes you wanna go to yahoo, write down the URL but instead of in the browsers address window it´s put in the Google Suggest´s window and if you hit Enter, it is processed as a standard search. The same problem (actually it´s no problem) you have with certain toolbars.
Yeah, some queries in the list also were strange to me and I went to Google to see what will appear to them ... I've found out some popular sites I haven't heard of them before.
I've used Google Trends to check and yes, you have right : seems that "yahoo" is one of the most common searched terms on Google See : http://www.google.com/trends?q=yahoo.com,+yahoo,+my+space,+myspace,+google&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all Quite interesting, I would say.
