A classical music site with top music masterpieces. It's one of my client's site. He's planning to add more mp3 previews. So what do you think of the design and any ideas on functionalities? I'm thinking of maybe a comment system and a vote system?
comment and vote would be nice. but the functionality is a problem. or more so the reason for this list. Its terrible that you would put a "top list" for classical music. There is so much incredible music in classical music that this is almost not even helpful. I'm sorry if this is mean, but I will give you some advice. Make different lists. Like a beginner's guide to classical music. most popular classical pieces. "100 pieces you must listen to before you die" (if you have to make a "top list" this is the best way to go about it), or make silly lists. its all about breaking down what the consumer is looking for. give reason to the consumer WHY each piece made it to the list. give some criticism. make some comments about it. let the consumer know that the person speaking KNOWS what he's talking about. Use the NPR's guide to building a classical music collection as an inspiration for this site. I hope that was helpful. As a classical musician I did not like the "top 60" idea. and do NOT tell me that Beethoven's 9th symphony was not in the top 3 AND that barber's adagio for strings beat the 9th symphony by 4 spots. There's alot of problems with this list. Please find some classical musicians to help you make the lists.
