It doesn't really matter what the page rank of the directory is, the page that the article is posted on will have a page rank of 0 unless you build links to it.
Its not that actually, sorry.A link from a reputed domain like these directories is plus in SE's eyes.Even though the pages might have PR0 ,but that doesn't mean, you are out of the link juice.a backlink from a at least 5 of these article directories ,is as powerful as a permanent link from wikipedia.
I seriously doubt that 5 links from an article directory are worth one link from Wikipedia. By and large a links value is based on how difficult it is to get, links that anybody can get like ones from article directories are very low value links when it comes to SEO.

Tip of the day from someone who owns an article directory: DON'T post the same spun crap on every one of them. It won't help. Even if it means you post 1/10 of the content, make the work unique for each directory and make it high quality. To be blunt, spun copies don't even get through my moderation, which is light compared to most other directories. Example? I just reopened and went through all existing (unmoderated) content: out of over 87,000 articles, less than 500 made the cut... and I wasn't even being harsh. I'll say it again: posting crap is pointless, wherever you post it. Your backlinks mean nothing if the sites you post on get Google-slapped for junk content.
