Yes hubpages I believe is no follow....but who cares right! Still get visitors from it and yahoo and msn still count links....Don't just think Google...Google is only a small piece of the pie....build referral traffic, because if your Google rankings tank then what type of traffic will you get if you only concentrated on Google?

I agree on the other tips but I'll think twice in blog comment. Its hard to find dofollow blogs and most comments are looks like spam, I don't have success in this when it comes to ranking but I experience good traffics on that. And also link bait, I haven't tried this one. Is this really effective? How does it done?

I agree on taking on all search engines but i disagree on google is just a small piece of the pie! if that's the case then the whole pie will have rainbow colored logos all over with the letters g o o g l e written on them. next will be Baidu though the chinese search engine giant, but whi cares about chinese speaking search anyways [ i do ]

But, I consent with tatoo, that there are lots of pages in yahoo directory which have 0 PR. So, I feel that we won't get any benefit of it so why we try to get a back links from Yahoo in which we have to pay 299$!!!!!

Trust me Google is only a small fraction of the traffic you could be getting....Just look at how much traffic some of these Major players in User Generated content get like You tube, facebook, Squidoo, Ezinearticles, stumbleupon, Digg and theirs thousands upon thousands of sites that you can utilize...

It is a proven fact that social, user generated, community type sites are growing at a rate that is much faster than Google...it's hard to believe...and their are more and more sprouting up every day that you can use for your benefit...

A link bait page or link bait in general should be something that you and I and everyone else will love to use, visit, link to and share.....

It's not all about Page Rank with Google.... When you have your site in a Authority directory such as Yahoo, DMOZ, Business.com that has Editorial Standards...This tells Google that your site is of Good quality, since your site passed a human editorial review....which will give you bonus points with Google...

Plus you should get some visitors from that listing too!
