Stumbleupon sells visits for 5 cents each.

Yeah, I was researching if their adverising program is worth it. I was told their referrals did not usually convert. Useless traffic

Useless? It's traffic that gets your site noticed in the blogosphere, and I have noticed that people bookmark my site and come back later. Then they are (suddenly) clicking on ads and stuff like that. In other words: it's good general PR.

I spent $20 in clicks on stumbleupon in a very targeted category and every single visit was one page view. I suppose they could come back.

Digg is only useful if your story is digged by many people during the initial phase of submission. If the diggs did not reach a critical number at that period, then the story will disappear "forever". Because people only like to read stories which are already digged by many people and this is turn attract more diggs. However, it may be good for SEO purposes if you intend to get a good backlink to your site.

I prefer stumbleupon to any of them. I enjoy doing it and I receive quite a few visitors from them and some adsense money. Digg has too many rules and is overcrowded. I never receive much from them.
