Ezinearticles should be ranked first while the rest like articledashboard, searchwarp, articlealley, buzzle, articlecity should be more or less have the same ranking.

I have submitted to associated content and am reasonably happy with the distribution as well. I find ezine to be a hassle. Just submitted some articles last evening to go articles also. While all the article sites listed here are good to very good, I think the emphasis has to be on writing good keyword laden articles on subjects people want to read. The title is extremely important as top ten lists, how to articles and articles in your own area of expertise that are on people's minds. You can control how many articles you write, what the subject matter is and if it is popular you can get it listed on a lot of sites!

Finding the 5 "best" depends on your goals.

Unfortunately, most people just look at PR and rank by that rather than by their own experience, because they have none or little (successful experience).

Ezinearticles.com is obviously a top source. Goarticles.com is okay too. I use them. It's kind of a pool of crap, but if you're just trying to get Google indexed, it's fine.

Articledashboard.com is another site I use.

But what you use really depends on your niche and what you're trying to accomplish.

Goarticles does not have any way of keeping any track of how many hits, publishes or anything, you just seem to submit and go on. Associated Content is where I have submitted some of my articles and I am trying to do what marketjunction suggests is find a site where I can submit quickly and track what happens to the articles to see which ones were more popular, most downloaded, etc....... Ezine is good for that but their editing is slow and kinda quirky. I have had articles held up because they say my articles are adult in nature and I am writing about lingerie so I think I need to go elsewhere as cleaning them up to Ezines standards is just too time consuming. Great distribution and everyone seems to have great things to say about them, but me. Oh well!
