Weird question. I created a page around a very highly competitive keyphrase. Searched in Google and I am ranked #3. Of course, I was ecstatic and did a victory lap around my office! Then went to a colleague's computer to brag and when we searched on that PC I was nowhere to be found. One week later and I still rank #3 on my PC, but don't rank on anyone else's PC. Is Google delivering different results based on my IP? I am very confused! Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Scott
You should make sure you haven't selected any preferences like "only show pages in my language or from my location", because if you do ... well ... it might change depending on which computer you are. If you use search at the left of the search results is stuff like: "change location", "only show pages in my language" etc. Make sure they match or else indeed your search results will pop up differently. A rep is most appreciated considering I am just a mere peon
Google will often manipulate results shown to your home PC based on your browsing habits and websites visited. If you spend a lot of time on your own website, Google will often recognise this and show you search results that differ from most people- simply because you have shown interest in your own site. Using software like RankTracker to keep track of your true rankings will eradicate these issues. WebDev
You should use one of the Free sites like serprush to check your search engine rankings. This will check not just one search engine but many and also regional like google U.S or google U.K Never rely on your local PC. Being logged into your google account can also put your sites at the top of results but only on your pc
This is called Personalized search.suppose i visited your website two or three time by typing a keyword in google and next time when i will type the same keyword Google will show your website at top stop and below your website there is written " You Visited this site"
Most browsers support incognito browsing(Chrome), private browsing(Firefox) modes. Enable that mode in your browser and check the link.
Google saves your preferences, your searches, your googling sessions and shows you result accordingly. You can clear all your preferences, google web history, remove cookies and then search to get an unbiased search result.
it is due to lbecause you are searching the keyword with already login your gmail account. this creates problem and always show you in the top of the searches. use some tools to get an idea where your sites exactly is. there are various which are available like seoserp i mostly use this for searchig.
