Reason for selling: My server has way too many sites on it and I need to sell off some projects that I no longer have time to promote. This isnt all the sales, the sales for makemytrain are the ones for $8 (1 day featured) , $40 (1week featured) and $120 (1 month featured).

Myspace recently disabled the auto bulletin posting buttons, so we have set it up for users to easily copy/paste the subject and body into their bulletin post.

Features:

Admin

All trains: view all trains, set featured, delete trains, sort trains. You can sort trains by last join date, so if nobody has joined a train in 7 days, you can delete it. Great way to delete non-active trains. Really takes a load off your server. (makemytrain.com/admin_trains.jpg)

Train spots: Places you specified ID's on ALL the trains.

Bulletin spots: These are featured spots on the bulletin. users can purchase these spots(http://www.makemytrain.com/purchase.php). When they purchase, in your paypal email, you will be given the buyers myspace ID, copy and paste it into the admin section, and it will retrieve all the info for you. (image, name). (makemytrain.com/bulletin.jpg)

Banned users: users who use auto join programs...if you pay a little attention you can find them easily..just add their ID, and if they are banned, all they have to do is enter a captcha code to join.

Top Riders: or top conductors, are the top ten people whose trains when the highest rounds, makes users want to make their trains the best so they can be in a featured position on every bulletin post.

configuration: you can set categories on or off (i keep them off)
enable train spots on or off (i keep this on GREAT feature)

my account: sets email/password for admin access blah blah...

logout: logout of the admin area.



Front End.

Joining a train: unlike other sites, After you join a train...it will SHOW YOU ON THE TRAIN, along with the bulletin post code, that you simple click once and it selects all the code for you, there is also a link to the bulletin page for the users convenience.

View all trains: views all trains sorting by highest rounds..

This site is still getting orders, if you have a large friend profile, you can easily make this a winner. Im also throwing in a free Auto Bulletin poster that supports multiple accounts as well to promote this in the bulletins.

the YPN makes between $3-$5/day but the ads are not related to myspace and they are poorly placed, i think adsense targetted ads would do better as it gets a ton of impressions.

you can see by the paypal screenshot. Ide have to guess anywhere from $40-$160/week

 

actually, i invested $500 in optimizing the script.

database queries, caching of images...whole bunch of other stuff not sure but it was a lot....you can see the site loads flawlessly on a really strained server.

 

BIN reduced to 1,800. reserve 1,400. I need to sell this ASAP, need to get my other projects rollin.

yes people are still purchasing spots, the last one was for 1 day and it was 3 days ago. Keep in mind nobody can join for the past 2 days because i disabled it.

 

Hmmmmmmmmm.....Why would you disable making money ??

because too many people join or attempt to join with their auto joiners and it takes a toll on the server which is slow enough as it is. my p4 server can only withstand so much, i have so many sites on their the way it is. The whole point of me having the captcha program installed was to limit that which it has. And it is ALWAYS about making money, I am selling makemytrain.com, if i leave the join page the way it was then how can I show people the product if the server that runs it is always down?

 

Time to upgrade server to a Duel Xeon....Trouble gone.............

Are there any live monthly/weekly subs? If so how many?

I am seriously interested, I've just got the horrible feeling I'm missing something, so if there is anything else you can add with regard to the site that would be great.

 

there are currently 3 live monthly subs, and about 3 weekly ones which paid over a week ago but im really generous. I notice about 40% of the time when i take someone down from a day spot they usually end up purchasing a weekly or monthly position.

I'm not going to mislead you, as im sure you know myspace trains have slowed down since myspace disabled the auto post buttons. But we have done everything possible to make it convenient for riders to use makemytrain including providing them with the bulletin code, a 1 click select all, and a link back to their bulletin page. I have 2 VERY good ideas that I will share with the buyer only that I know will make makemytrain get more popular and make people post even MORE bulletins then they did before myspace disabled the buttons, this feature will cost about $150.00 to be coded in though.

There really isnt much more to say, what you see is what you get...we only did bulletin promotion on this and I will share my methods on how to get people with high friend counts to promote it for you for free and benefit from doing it as well.

also, i should mention that we also receieved payments from popular music artists eamon and outkast...u can see outkasts train on makemytrain.com/outkast and eamon is a feature member on the index page. they must remain on the site for another month. when eamon came to use a few weeks ago he had a little les than 3k friends, now he has about 30k.

 

ok, just a few more questions.

1. Your running Yahoo ads and said that you think adsense would do better, if thats the case why aren't you running them? (ie is the site banned from adsense?)

2. Just for the record, there is no outstanding C&D or anything similar from MySpace (or anyone else) for the site?

3. Did you write the script or get it from elsewhere? (ie If I bought I'm not going to get hit with someone saying I stole their script)

4. This auto bulletin poster, I assume its one of those windows programs that does it all for you?

not running adsense because my adsense account was suspended last year.

there are no C&D's.

i bought a script from a programmer on elance and had him heavily modify it to my needs and add a lot of new features.

and yes, the bulletin poster is a desktop application
