content? If you put too much effort on it, I have done things in the past that even a one sentence site with just like "I love my cheeseburger" even with a crappy title and bad domain name. we still got it ranking for cheeseburger lovin Keyword. goes to show that Links makes up the most of Google's algo
Thanks for your tips seobeginner sir . I have copied this article in notepad and try to utilize everything you have mentioned here .
I don't know what went wrong with my website. I have a website started in Feb2008, got PR4 in April 2008. Recently got pushed down to PR0. 1. Site stats got over 35,000+ backlinks, lots of lots of PR3 to PR6 links and .Edu links. 2. ZERO outgoing links from my website. 3. 100% Original Content. 4. They keyword for which I am targeting is there in my website name too.(But my site is not even in 1000 for the main keyword) Secondary keyword SERP - I was jumping between page1 and page6 for last one month. Yes, page1 and page6 only. I have never seen my site on page2 to page5. I only get to be on Page1 for 1 hr - 2 hr every day only, other time it was in page6. Now for last 3 days, I lost that Page1 jump too. (Bounce rate of less than 25%) Will my website ever recover from penalty, I really don't know.
Not only those, Quality Content also plays an important role to reach top rankings... For me, Content first, backlinks next ,etc.
As far as i know, before, AGE DOMAIN has a factor on SERP. But since Google updated PR recently, their algorithm might change too.
According to their patents and what I've seen first hand - yes. That said, remember yer content. Yes yes - RIGHT NOW links are extremely important and to be sure, they're always hold some very solid weight but content is and always will be extremely important as well. There will always be exceptions and you'll always find sites that rank with no instances of the keywords ont he page but more often than not, you'll find a solid use of keywords in the body, title and header tags.
Well, I'm being very open ended here — as different sites require different marketing approaches. You might be in a heavily saturated niche where there are lots of social bloggers, in which case talking with them is a great starting point (you know, get into discussions on their blogs, contact them over email/twitter/flickr/or other social networks). You might be in a heavily saturated niche where there isn't too much social action, in which case advertising/guest posting/or something of that nature works better. You might be in a niche where there are community link indexes, which I only mention because of my own personal experience in the design community, where sites like Pixel2Life.com and Good-Tutorials.com provide an incredible platform to publicize new content. However, those all seem outside of the scope of this topic to me, and we could easily go on all day about how to get a sites name out there. If you want to rank well in search engines over long periods of time, I stick to my first answer that Content is the key factor. After all, it's the search engines job to rank pages as the best "Answers" to a users query. If your site doesn't provide the BEST answer, it's not going to rank well over time as the algo is continually adjusted.
I know domain age does give some authority but this example is definitely not case. I have seen domains that are less than 1yr old with no backlinks at all and beat out sites that are over 10yrs old and have over 20,000 backlinks pointing from the domain. If you can get a few major things right, other stuff barely matters (it always helps though) - you need to include you main keyword phrase in the domain name (.com perferred) - use your main keyword phrase in the page title - use main keyword in meta description - include the main keyword phrases in your header tags (h1, h2, etc) These are the most important on-page factors, once you have these it's time to start building links. I do not agree that, a domain havening 10 Years with many back links would get higher PR or SERP. IT I not even a point to assess PR. You will see million website gets higher within 1 / 2 years while millions of site remains on 0 / 1 PR for 10 to 12 years. Off course there is an acceptation but acceptation is not an example. Main idea is, quality BL is more important then Quantity, Contents with design based on W3C.org / Google Guideline is more then Domain age and finally keyword in relevant with domain and business is important to spin PR.
