Top 250 directories. Is your directory in it?.

We have started a non-profit effort to list the high quality webdirectories/linkdirectories based on their ranks.

With hundreds of directories available, how does anyone know if it is worth submitting to your directory. Be it paid or free or reciprocal.

With us each directory's rank is calculated every hour and no single directory is going to hold the top place all the time. Even our own directory (www.suggest-link.co.uk) doesnt rank no.1.

Its not only about ranking, its about providing a right place where anyone can find appropriate directory of their choice.

As we are limiting only to 250 directories, feel free to put up yours as soon as possible.

Thank you. As pointed out by few of you, we are now implementing the following data within the button. It should be ready in couple of hours.

The button will have:

PageRank, Indexed Pages (Google), BackLinks (Google), (Alexa Rank) and Indexed Links for Google, MSN, Yahoo!, AlltheWeb, AltaVista and Total Links.

Just trying to work out a design that should accomodate all the above. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

I appreciate the validity of your point. It is not mandatory that you must link back to our website and by all means you may refrain from doing so or you can keep it in a remote page where no one visits. Your directory's link popularity information is not for you but for your directory visitors to show them instantly the value of your directory and to encourage them go for your paid listings if one is available. Afterall, the no. of link directories these days are more and are increasing rapidly.

 

I hope I didn't miss the point. The real point is when a novice like me start a website, he/she believes strongly that they are going to get a huge traffic/business from the very next day. As days pass by ( within a month) they realise that they are nowhere near the dream point. This makes them understand the intricacies of the Internet ( eventually making them a webmaster) and they start to look for backlinks, PRs etc.

Joe Average searching for widgets would only care about websites of locally known brands rather than what comes first in the search results.

Yes, it is similar to the sites you have specified. However, the difference is the ranking is calculated every hour and that the ranking changes every hour or so.

Also, it is an AD FREE site designed exclusively for the purpose it is meant.
