    Very true. But also good content that will stand out in the mind of the reader has the potential of becoming solid linkbait material.

    Also specialized tools become a nice linkbait. I have one tool that I built in 2004 that has been used more than 48k times, and according to Yahoo, it has more than 8,000 backlinks. (http://thephantomwriters.com/link-builder.pl)
