I just submitted my site to the alive directory, WOW directory, and Dirspace.

I have a teen Niche... Most directories don't even have a categorie for me.

Can anyone recommend any other good paid directories that are not over $40?

 

That is the list I have been starting to really watch too.....

 

The good professional and hard work on a directory makes it worthy, if you are going to pay more than $40, you must be assure how solid the PR, link popularity (back links by search engines) , well categorized, number of links per page (max. 15 links per page is fine) and some traffic offcourse is valuable.

I just submitted my site to about 10 free directories. If I'm going to submit to some paid directories, should I wait a week or two and space the submittals out over time?

its very hard to get into quality directories by submitting them as free submission, unless your site is of high quality and you have patience to wait for atleast 6 months.

 

as for me http://www.octopedia.com/ is one of the most useful, because it is not only a link from the directory to your web site but I have visitors also.
May be http://www.vxbox.com/ and http://www.abilogic.com/. All the rest - zero results.
