On page optimisation is so often neglected although it is the easiest way to get high in the rankings. Essentially it is the only thing you directly control. On the other hand, there are so many myths and so much fiction around on page optimisation that I decided to write my own top 10 tips from my years of experience as a webmaster Top 10 on page optimisation tips Let me know what you think!
Interesting blog post, thanks for sharing. Tip no.9 about crumbtrail is great, found it on the official Google seo starter document
Keyword density of 15% to 20%? Ha-ha-ha. That's WAAAAAY too high! "I'm a keyword stuffer, I'm a keyword stuffer, I'm a keyword stuffer." 3% to 5 % works much better. In spite of the fact that many now claim that KD is no longer a factor. Yeah, right. So zero KD should work best, right? Wrong. The keyword MUST be there, in some percentage. But NOT every 5th word (20%). . .
Thanks for the good tips. On-page SEO is an art and science. You can't over-do it. If you did, you get keyword stuffing which can be bad. If each title tag, you can't stuff too many keywords as they will bring each other's weight down. It's all about practice and figuring out what works best for what situations.
Keyword density that high will border line guarantee you will never rank well for it, even if you fix it later.
Should have been a bit more clear - 15%-20% works fine for me, but as long as the description is very carefully written. The description needs to be short and the total number of instances of the keyword should not exceed 4.
Thanks for sharing, yes On Page Optimization is the effective way to boost your SERPS. And key words density plays the major rolls in that.
I never worry about keyword density. I just write about the subject and the page naturally contains the keyword a good number of times.
