CNN reports that a new survey under taken for HR Consulting firm Development Dimensions and Badbossology.com has highlighted the 10 biggest 'boss sins'. The survey sample was 900-plus employees. Here they are: 1. Tries too hard to be everyone's friend 2. Micromanages 3. Ignores conflict 4. Arrogant 5. Wishy-washy 6. Impulsive 7. Unable to delegate 8. Impatient 9. Stubborn 10. Unprofessional Interestingly, the survey found that 70% of respondents between the ages of 34 and 45 said that they'd prefer to work for men. Workers 45 and over were also found to prefer having a boss somewhere near their own age.
I think 3 and 5 are a major problem. In my experience more and more people avoid confict and that just leads to further problems in the long run. A persons gender is irrelevant, but I found it harder as I got older and my bosses got younger!
