I found that unique keyword rich(not excessive) content makes a BIG difference when it comes to being ranked. And of course one-way links to high-traffic or high ranking sites that are related to your site will most always get you results.

 

I agree - there must be a "natural" distribution of your keywords in your site content ad title. And the content is very important. Deliver great quality and also good quantity

Agree. Instead of submitting to SE, I just add my website to Google Webmaster Tools or Yahoo! SiteExplorer, and the website is indexed automatically.

I would just like to add, use WordPress on your own domain whenever possible and ping your posts. If you do this you won't even need to manually submit your sites to search engines.

 

I agree with the poster above that Wordpress is really helpful for getting indexed. Also be sure to use either a good SEO plugin and/or an SEO-optimized theme.

 

These are proven techniques but the most important thing is to promote your site continuously. you need to make a day to day schedule and must follow it to get desired result. Also we can never expect quick and overnight results as seo is long term process.
