I agree, difficult to rate web host companies when most people will have a different experience with a company no matter what. I like 1and1 and haven't ever had a problem with them. Seems it is the bad hosts we need to talk about and all the rest operate much the same. Cost and keeping your site up is the key. If it drops, then drop them and go to another company...seems easy enough...
