My blogs get spam comments only, as they do offer nothing to discuss :) .

Those were BIG NO NO's of blog commenting. It's pretty obvious to see who didn't read the article just by mere saying of " Thanks, very helpful" or anything to that effect..I must admire the webmaster's patience when it comes to dealing with those kinds of posters.

I always try to add my keyword in the username since it's essential when I'm trying to rank for my keywords. Sometimes though I mix up a part of my keyword into the surname. But most of the time, as long as you really contribute to the blog post your comment will stick regardless of any keyword in your name. Just ask yourself each time 'is my comment adding value to the article'?

And see there is the problem. As a webmaster, I could care less about you trying to "rank for your keywords", so why do I care to allow your comment that is obviously nothing more than an SEO stunt ?

Comment fields are not there as a tool for you, they are a part of the website owners interaction with his readers. If you are not a reader and are just looking for a place to "Rank for your keywords", personally, I will delete your comment everytime.

I'm like most of the rest of you, if a blog comment isn't relevant to the blog post and you're obviously a blinking red beacon of spamness you're out the door.

What I love is the "great post" type comments, or comments that aren't in any shape related to the blog post. Then you have the best kind of all, no comment with keyword spam.

But these people who do it can be successful ... eventually, they're going to run across sites that auto-approve. =\

Man, that seems like such a waste of time and resources. It's the equivalent of repeatedly throwing rocks in the air and seeing which ones hit you on the head.
It would take less time to read the actual post and leave a relevant comment..it would also be more productive.
