Top 10 reasons why webmasters delete your comments as spam.

Every blogger has tried comments to build back links, but many have noticed that it is harder than it used to be because many bloggers and websites are not allowing your comments.
    Well here's why:

Most webmasters and blog owners know that bloggers don't really give a damn about the articles and are looking for backlinks.

However, there isn't a webmaster or site owner out there, that really cares about your SEO. There is no feeling of community and brotherhood to allow your comment so that you can get a backlink. If your comments are getting deleted, it is likely your fault and here are some reasons why:

    1. The general "nice post, very helpful, this was good information"- I know you didn't read it, so your comment adds nothing to the post.
    2. Using Keywords in the "name" field - C'mon..really? Automatic spam deletion
    3. Linking to known spam niches...Casino, Pharmaceutical, Forex, Weight Loss, etc.
    4. Putting a link in the comment- No brainer, automatic spam deletion.
    5. Multiple duplicate comments. I own more than one blog and I see the same people leave the same useless comments on many of them...they will always get deleted.
    6. Bad English. Why would I approve a comment with bad English?
    7. No English. Why would I approve a comment in a language that I or my readers don't understand.
    8. Comment full of keywords. This is just blatant spamming.
    9. ".info" email address. Old news. Used for spamming.
    10. Leaving affiliate links. To obvious. Spam delete.

If you are doing any of these, your comments will never make it past anyone and you are just wasting your time.

The best way to have a comment posted and have it stay with the article for it's lifetime ( with your back link) , is to actually read the article and leave an informed opinion. Everything else is just spamming.

I second to that. You really need to read the article for you to understand its message and express your own opinion.

If you make comments relavant to blog post! than there is no chance of deletion of comments! in fact possessive comments make author to know more about content

And, not only the comments are relevant to the blog post, but the website you link to is also relevant to the post, that may be better.

Actually, I don't use blog comments for link building at all. It is a networking tool and can be good for some direct traffic. If you understand the purpose for doing it, the rest just falls into place.

That's usually a good rule to live by, but unfortunately many don't.
I think this is a problem mostly with noobs who have bad or outdated information. Many don't even know that what they are doing is considered spam.

Of course you will never stop the blatant spammer, they will always look for opportunities to exploit to drop a link.

Most of these points are obvious no-brainers. However, the taboo on .info domains really has to stop, I use several .info domains which are relatively successful considering how long they've been online, and the time I spend on them. Also, another big give away of spam is when the comment is 25 links to crappy sites. Then they post 400,000 identical comments on every aritcle on your site every day for a month - worst month of my life, having to manually delete every single comment.

Yes, it sucks about the .info domains, but they have been used so relentlessly for splog registration and spam emails that it will be hard to get people to trust them again.
Basically any email that is an obvious attempt at anonymity, or looks as if it was created by bots, raises a red flag.

It is obvious when it is from a "real person" with no ulterior motives, and when it is from a webmaster. Real people use their real names and email addresses.
Webmasters try to hide and use all kinds of tricks.

Personally, I would rather not have any comments from other webmasters because they don't know how to act. Sucks because bloggers and webmasters are constantly scanning the web looking for places to exploit for comment backlinks.

Sometimes I wish Google had never put so much emphasis on it...it screwed up just having a normal site...you are always deleting spam.

Personally, I don't have a problem with keywords in the name field if the rest of the comment adds to the post. It's a give and take for me.

That being said, I can completely agree with #1 and #4. I'll never allow you to have links in the body of your response, unless they are useful to my readers.

Some spammy comments are fairly well thought out and I will leave some of these if they have some felevance but strip the url.

I think keywords will be fine in name field but your comment should be natural and on topic. It should not be spammy.

You have provided useful information. Reading the blog first and then commenting about it will really seem to be meaningful rather than placing useless comments.

The simple principle is to write the related comments, and don't write the common comments, such as " great post", " I like it" ...

My number one rule is relevance to the article. If the comment is authentic then there's a decent chance that Ill allow the keywords in the name.
