If avg search vol. per month is 2400 and advertiser competition is 50% then how much visitors one can expect if he is in top 10 or 20.
If you're on the 2nd page, don't expect any traffic from that keyword. It may still result in 1 or 2 hits per day, but they probably wouldn't convert well. The advertiser competition level just refers to adwords competition. So it does not say much about the organic competition. Really there is no formula to say you should get x hits for being in position y. The number of hits will be unique for each keyword and position. A lot of it depends on how strong the higher ranked sites are. With some keywords, 90% of the people will find just what they are looking for on the first result. Then they would have no reason to look at other results. To get much of the traffic you really need to aim for top 3. If your rankings are lower than that, you won't get much traffic.
Difficult to calculate no accurate estimation tools are there if 2400 is average search volume and your site is after 5 th result then it depends on wether user get what he is looking for in top 5 sites. He will surely click on 6 th link if the content of top 5 sites are of no use for him so it depends on what exactly he is looking for and "search term". Suppose he is looking for term "Blackberry" but he dont want to buy the phone but he just want to know what it is .So he wont click on the top five results(they are black berry sales site) or he will go to 6 th result because it is wikipedia . on gross we can say for 2400 volume search term after 5 th rank the average user could be less then 500...
I went to a recent seminar and it was explained that if your are not in the top 3 or 4 then you want to be at the bottom of the first page on the results. The reason being is that once people scroll down they are too lazy to scroll back up, so click the bottom link. Not sure how much truth there is in this but after raising a couple of kids it makes sense. If they took the time and trouble to actually scroll down there is no way they would have the energy to scroll back up
IMHO, it's hard to tell as there is no way to figure out exact numbers.. However, if your website is ranking in the top 3/5 then you should expect something between 30-40 visitors per day. Those are just my estimations based on similar search volume only Hope i was clear and hopefully helpful.
