Domain Name - (I do not feel that the domain name plays as much of a roll in optimizing a website as the factors that I listed above).

It really sounds funny when you say that. I personally believe there should be no thing like SEO....I mean why do we need to actually optimize it. They are the basic of website development. You need to have the right tags, the right site structure and site content.

SEO is only about 2 things - Cost and Time.

One needs to get the results at the least cost possible (we can pay a lot of money to adwords and enjoy the top position if cost didn't matter).

One needs to generate traffic in lesser span of time i.e pick the right keywords. You cannot wait for keywords like "Hotel" wait for 3 years to reach the top. Opt for phrases like budget hotel or cheap hotel and start generating traffic in 4 - 5 months.

So it is really important to have the keyword in the domain to get fast results in lesser time.

This is a very good list. Most of it I agree with. I might order a few things a little differently and replace another one, but if anyone starts with this, they will be good shape.

One thing to keep in mind is that Google looks at about 400 different factors when ranking a page. With that said, most have a lot more to learn past this top ten list. And the pros have more to learn as well, I'm sure.
