Your "west syndrome" related example is not relevant, because "west syndrome" has only 6k monthly searches, and it`s so easy to bring it in top 10. Your service is not guaranteed, right? Hi, Thanks for your comment. Obviously the more competitive a keyword the more links you have to build. The west syndrome example has 20-25 backlinks for 4th position with on page optimization and 6k monthly searches. Here is another example. "National insurance number" is searched 74,000 times a month and ranks 5th in google. It also has 44 Million competing pages for those keywords. For this more backlinks were needed, only just over 100, mostly from directories, but without the on page SEO this would not rank where it does for the keyword that it does. If the page is not optimized then the amount of backlinks needed would be a lot more, and probably still wouldnt rank where it does. I hope this example is sufficiant enough to answer your question.
