I use these free stock photo sites. Perhaps some sites are already listed in this rating, but this list will be useful for many.

 

At the conclusion of my life-project and closing of my large high traffic website after 15 years of full time work online, On May 8th 2012, I gave into public domain and free for all for any use, all my nature pictures previously published i my online photo-gallery. some 3300 processed pictures and for many also the raw full size images, up to 24Mpx. Most of the FREE pictures made with high resolution Sony cameras with Carl Zeiss lenses.
ll pictures are about tropical nature, mostly Philippine islands nature, some from Cambodia. Beaches, ocean views, island scenery,jungle, vegetation, roses, tropical flowers, etc. Some in wallpaper formats 1920x1200, 1920x1080,1600x1200px, others in various creative formats usually 1600px width. totally more than 5000 free to use high resolution pictures, total 34GB as fast torrent download.

My only wish would be to keep torrent seeding for as you use and enjoy the pictures to let others also enjoy free legal nature photos.
many pics can be used as is in greeting cards sites or wallpaper sites or as the basis of your own God given creativity.

Nice list. Actually, the largest database of free stock photos is on www.stockfreeimages.com - 700,000 images. Also on www.dreamstime.com/stock-photos you can download free images, tens of thousands of them. Both sites are managed by Dreamstime.com so the collection is 100% legal to use.

 

I think you should add imonomy (http://www.imonomy.com) they give you free images and all kinds of perks that other sites just can't give you. For example: Content related images that can automatically be fit to your text-content.

 

I only used morguefile and struggled to find good other websites. Bookmarked all suggestions,thanks alot!

Thank you for these lists. It's hard just doing a Google search, because I sometimes would land on a site that only offers me one free image at a time. I don't mind paying, though. However, I still have to watch my spending.

 

These sites are what I've been searching for in quite a while.
Now that I have the list, I am going to read more about creative commons license.
I do not want to be in trouble using these free stock images

 

This is a very helpful resource, and to use with caution. We have to be careful what photos we used so we don't get into trouble. I know sometimes people say they're giving away free photos, but some of them are stolen from elsewhere. Be careful.

 

Deviantart is also a great resource, with constant additions by thousands of artists daily. However you might need to check licensing info on each of the images before public usage.
