The list is ranked by # of backlinks picked up by Google, Yahoo and MSN for over 500 sites submitted via our online directory submission system http://www.4th-media.com/submission/ in last 5 months.

The system automatically logs submissions and track approvals to maintain a list of active directories ranked by approval rates. The quality of submission automatically gets better and better over time.

Hmm, very interesting information, I wouldn't mind to pay $15 to see that list.

How does the system track approvals, using Google?

When a site is suggested to my directory, provides a link to check submission status (see http://www.monkey-directory.com/check.php?id=91753&id2=51659 ). Would that be of any value to your submission system? I could add another option that just says "Listed", "Waiting review", "Rejected" or whatever you prefer (see http://www.monkey-directory.com/check.php?id=91753&id2=51659&s=1).

i have no idea how two of my directories got up there. they are only about 6 weeks old...there are thousands of directories that have been around longer...not only that, i haven't even done much promotion

Thanks for the list. Not keen on OneBigIndex. It asks for a reciprocal link back to their gaming site.

 

muchacho, the systems looks at all three search engines to rack approvals. Adding submission status to your directory is useful for users. It won't affect how our system track approvals.

dpakman91, the system tracks only about 300 free directories, not all directories. We'll try to track all free diretories eventually. But I'm sure your directories are strong, and fast approval.

spondishy, some directories start asking for recip links when they get enough traffic. Most of them drop recip requirement later. I guess they won't get many or any submission when recip link is required. I'll keep onebigindex for a while, it'll eventually drop (automatically) from the list if it always asks for recip link.
