Google Adwords is a good tool for light research and its free. I need to do deep research so i prefer using ‘Keyword country ‘ to check profitability of my keywords and it works for me.
I have found that Google Adwords is a great free resource, especially for bloggers. I also use webconfs.com. They have several tools for keyword evaluation that was very helpful. I really like the Keyword cloud tool that will crawl your site and give you your keyword profile for your site or blog.
And Ttraffic Travis even the free version is great for simply putting the KW in and getting some approximate difficulty level for ranking.
I like to use Market Samurai and the Google keyword tool (Make sure you select exact) when using the Google Tool and Market Samurai. That will save you tons of grief haha.
