before i even start, let me say that yes, i do plan to move off of bum marketing and investing into a site, so please no "get a website/domain name" answers, as ive got that burned into my brain already, and im just not ready to move to that step yet (switching between jobs and going to dentest, going to be running low on cash for a couple months) with that said: can anyone give me any tips to tools i can use for bum marketing (article submissions to places like hubpages, squidoo, and ezine articles, and free blogs such as blogger.com, etc etc) ive found some great tools, but many do not work (they require a link to my domain name, and dont accept www._____.com/dragn/dragn.htm type of linking, so it makes things hard to track anything that can help me locate competitors (besides googling keywords), finding how optimized my page is SEO wise (well, how much i can do to it being i dont have total control), backlink checkers, etc etc pretty much any tool an SEO would want, but with the ability to work with sites i dont own.
It's a little harder when you limit yourself to not having a web site yet, so you'll have to hustle a little more and get a little creative but you can still make some money with BM. My best suggestion, find all the publishing platforms you can which allow affiliate links. Some article directories do but only in the author's resource box area and not in the articles themselves, that's fine you just need to get creative and good at setting up the "call to action" your resource link anchor text should be. Also, to make the most of your efforts look to the publishing platforms that have revenue sharing of some type for authors. There's a bunch of them and if you're going to put out a lot of article content to get started anyway why not earn a little extra with it where you can. In some cases you can also get away with using URL shortening services like tinyurl to insert your links, but I'd suggest only doing this where sales links are allowed but not direct affiliate links. Don't try to hide your links like this where no sales links are allowed or you'll just be wasting your time and likely be banned from the platform. Places like Squidoo and Hub Pages are great, just make sure you stay within their guidelines on links and content that appears to be sales copy or again you'll just be wasting time once some moderator comes and deletes your page(s). Finally, master social bookmarking and community networks. There are a lot of them (way beyond MySpace, Digg and StumbleUpon) and they can bring loads of targeted traffic to your marketing articles and publishings if used correctly and not abused. With the social sites it's really about recognizing your target markets, finding the services those people use or hang out on and then pulling traffic from them in a non-agressive and non-selling manner for the best results. Approach them with the idea of being helpful and informative on the product or service you're promoting rather than as a salesperson. Hope this helps, good luck.
thanks for the info man though most of that im already implimenting, im more looking for SEO tools n the likes, but hey, all information and help is welcome
Squidoo and hub pages are great but creating a website is much better. Bum marketing works great for website as well, so why not?
as stated above. i already know that, and i plan to go that route, but i financially CANNOT afford to spend an extra dime at the moment.
