Toolbar PR and real PR ?

    Hello,


    Often i read that google toolbar PR is a worthless measure... What is the point in having the toolbar than and how can i see the REAL PR of a webpage?

    i've seen some sites for wich google toolbar doesn't show the right pr, but they are less than 1/100... (also maybe the tool i was using didn't show the right pr :))

    you can use a pr checker instead, something like pr checker (it's just a random one, there are tons of such services...)

    You can't see "Real PR". They don't publish it. Toolbar PR though is the PR that is either guessed by Google, or an indication of the past 2 or 3 months (since the last googlebot crawl.)

    If Toolbar PR is at least 1, then chances are the site or page you're looking at is decent. Sites also need to "age" a bit before being given visible Toolbar PR. At least when you see zero pagerank or grayed out then you can check some more or do investigation.

    I had a web ranked PR0 in the toolbar, and between PR1 and PR2 in other pages that gives you the PR.

    So that, what's my PR? I don't know, I only know that it's too low... by now

    LOL Worthless, who said that??? Everybody is rushing to get HIGH PR, so it isnt worthless at all!

    Also the real PR of a website is constantly fluctuating, the PR you see in the google toolbar is just a SCREENSHOT of the previous PR update for your site, your site might have improved during that period or got down!!!!! so its normal that Google toolbar doesnt show the real PR of a site when you stare at its green evaluation,

    Also there has been some bug arround late in February 2006 when google updated pr, some sites like Alivedirectory.com, portprophecy.com and internet-marketing-blog.com still have the same pagerank for like 3 PR updates!!!!! But those kind of sites ( created between november 2005 and february 2006 ) are pretty rare, and you should not focus on PR when you're on them, because thats OBVIOUS they don't reflect the real pagerank they should have...

    Ya thats right everyody here on the internet is concerned about getting a high not only for advertising on their site but also to rank high.
