Just that when the update happens it takes some hours (days?) to go through the different datacenters. There are tools that can tell you the PR of each datacenter and thus you can figure out what it will be faster. But it doesn't matter really if you are not crazy like us And actually the omission of the exclamation mark of the thread title already told me it was false alarm
Darn, another case of PPRUAM - Premature Page Rank Update Alert Message. This has been a test, it is only a test. Had this been a real Page Rank Update Alert Message, servers all across the world wide web would be bogged down with Internet surfers flocking to the Internet to say, "Hey, have you heard?" "How did the PR update treat you?" and other worthless discussions .... again, this is only a test. Stay tuned to this forum for further instructions.
To add to what's already been said: Please do remember that when there actually IS a "PR update", all it will mean is that all of us with Google Toolbars or reasonable facsimiles will have a different little green bar to look at. Anything and everything that is related to that little bar has already happened and/or is already happening in terms of Google search rankings. You won't suddenly get more hits. You won't suddenly get a lot richer. You'll just have a different little green bar attached to the toolbar. I wonder if the Google people find all these threads entertaining...
ok back to my first questions... what sites do people use to keep an eye on the datacenters? I normally use http://www.mcdar.net/ but it's down a fair bit. Anyone use something similar?
LOL Minstrel No doubt, Matt, Larry, Sergio and the gang are drinking and laughing it up everytime something like this occurs. Hell, I'd bet they had one big bash back in May during the "Days of Gray" while everyone was running around and sounding the alarm that the sky was falling.
They should do reverse PR the next update, the lower the number the better. Just think about the buzz that would create.
JP, I have this site bookmarked, it gets pagerank from some (not all) datacenters: http://www.linkadage.com/linkadage-info/metrics_checker.htm
That's my favorite one too. When there are rumors of "something big", the server does get a bit bogged down, unfortunately. If that happens and I really can't wait, once in a while I'll go to http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/future-pagerank/ as a backup.
obsessive compulsive numb nuts, until you have proof in Mcdar or seochat with multiple urls, don't make me read 5minutes of crap babble, got me all excited for nuthin. I can't belive this thread got to 3 pages and now I'm ranting.
now that this has all been determined to be false... can someone please kill/delete/remove this thread... everytime i come to DP i get false hope seeing it as an updated/new thread. uugghh
Well I answered the question on the 14th post on why he saw a PR difference. That should have been the stopping point atleast.
