Tool to show color code

    Does anyone know of the tool used to show the color code of another site. There is a color I want to use buy cant find the exact code.


    I remember a thread while back that explained this but i cant find it now.

    1. Open the website and simply do a screen capture.

    2. Open Photoshop or similar program, paste the captured website image and use the color picker to pick the color.

    Open the website in FireFox (should be your default browser anyway :) ) and install the colour code extension. Mouse-over the colour and see it in the status bar.

    It won't be the EXACTLY correct colour at times because you are taking screenshots and opening them up. It's like opening a saved JPG file which has lost some colour information.

    Screen captures are transferred as bitmaps and there's no loss of information in this transfer (e.g. no JPEG-like compression).

    Colors may look different in imaging programs, though (e.g. custom palettes, gamma correction, etc).

    Many programs (even FrontPage) allow the eyedropper tool go outside the app's window, which makes it simple to capture colors from other apps.
