    My guess would be that the link is no longer in the spot the SE showed it in. For example, maybe it was a blog post that was on the front page but is now in the archives. Maybe the link is dynamically generated. Could be lots of different reasons. As I programmer, I know I would use the "Not Found" descriptor for any link the software didn't find.
