It wasn't terribly hard to make... was about 5 minutes for the function to get the WebRank, and 5 minutes to put a web page around it. :)

I see Yahoo WebRank for pages... make sure you have the new beta toolbar installed (I think they just put it out this morning):

    http://edit.companion.yahoo.com/?.cpdl=b543

And I'll be happy to answer any questions for the Abakus users... :)

Interesting, it must be a location thing... They must be geotargeting by your IP address or something. Maybe the WebRank is specific to the country you are in (like a site could have a different WebRank for German users, but something else for US users).

Do you know anyone else outside of the US that is seeing the same thing you do?

Probably a dumb question, but when you installed it, did you install it with WebRank enabled?

Yes i did enable the webrank, and i know one other who doesnt see ranking, he is from germany, (not very scientific yet, but who knows, maybe you need to be in the US to see it?)

Much too much time on my hands... I made a script that generates the WebRank output to a graphic file that looks like the one on the Yahoo toolbar. Except mine is 64x64 instead of 16x16.

    Shawn, you rule.
You should make your own light weight toolbar with your tools on it.

It can give the Google PR, Yahoo! Webrank, a "check all" button to log you in and check all your keywords for the day with the rank tracker, etc. etc.

And people might say "I don't need another toolbar for my browser..." but if it was a light version with little overhead ... I'd use it.

So yeah I'm sure you can expand off this ...

    Good job.

    Firstly let me say thankyou.

A wonderful service to your community here. I found your site purely because of your new tool and after browsing around I am glad I have :)

I have tested a few sites with the tool and a few of them multiple times. It seems the Webrank feature truly is in its beta stages as the same page returned 5 different scores within minutes of each other.

Out of curiosity would you mind sharing the call to the Yahoo server that gets the information on Web Rank ?

    Thanks

    Jason

The jumping around is curious... I've seen it too, but for whatever reason some sites (such as digitalpoint.com) seem to stay constant. It's something I've been looking into to make sure it's not something on my end (although I don't see how it could be since it gets the data from Yahoo).

As far as putting out the code, maybe someday, but not quite yet...

    Hi everibody,

Have you noticed a little problem with the tool (or Yahoo's WebRank) ?
When I try this site,I always get different results (and sometimes with other sites but not today) :

    hi nice webrank tool

while google PR ( online tools ) provide steady output

our online yahoo webrank tool ...

testing my webrank from outside US (being permanent guest in the PH .. )
i get results from exactly 1 - 10 within minutes for one and the same site ..
usually the first query is the highest
then it jumps down and around

    Dumb questions, I know

I take it the higher the rank the better? Just checking since one of my sites ranks 9 and this suprised me.

Also, how old is the ranking system for Yahoo? I haven't paid much attention till lately...now that they are no longer using Google results.

Also, is the ranking based upon their new spider in use now?

Thanks all...just found this great site and great tools.

How does this tool work? Do I have to wait 5 mins or something. Each time I search, my ranking is different 2 or 10 or 0 etc.,
