My vote's definitely with copyscape also. It's simple and easy to use while giving exactly what you need and making it easy to compare your website against any others that may share content.

The best place is to create a blog post and check the blog URL in copyscape..

copyscape is great as far as it goes - it will help you detect 'plagiarism' of your articles. What it won't do is give you much idea as to whether the search engines would regard your article as unique or not.

    Something different than copyscape...

Just try using Google and wrapping the text you are wanting to check in quotes, such as"

"here is some content that I want to check for duplication"

I use this all the time b/c it's quicker than copyscape. At least this way you'll see if the text snippet you're searching for is in Google, which is where you're probably most concerned about anyway, right?

Although Copyscape will look at a page, Google in now looking at "parts of a sentence".

As you write a sentence, copy it into google search and see if the string has been used. If it has (shows up), then rewrite it. Or you are just copying text!

The word is "unique" and "orginal".
