I have came across a new system for manual search engine submissions. It is a kind of intelligent system, that chooses the most apropriate search engines and directories for submissions on your website.
This system, called submitter, is on http://www.selectivesubmitter.com

What do you think about it? Would you use it?

I wouldn't use it because it's completely pointless and a waste of time to submit to search engines in my opinion.

BTW, you don't have to pretend you "found" it when it's your tool.

    Yeah, really intelligent stuff!

And this makes an awful lot of sense:

Hmmm let me see... I have 4 sites and submission is free. My budget is 10.000. That would make...

The site is dreadful to navigate IMO. If you are in the business of SE submsission, it seems ironic that you use frames.

You/they also use the term SE for directory. Now how will yuo get found for (a potentially useful) Directory Submission tool if all they mention is SE submission tool (which indeed is useless)?!

Judging from the support forum, this tool is new. You might want to look over your offering again before marketing it on places like this forum.

I am the designer/owner of SelectiveSubmitter, and I would be glad to receive all the possible feedback from you guys. Even negative view points are welcomed.

First of all, it is nice to be found by incoming links, but this works only for active spiders like Google, and in case you have incoming links. It never works for directories. Most spiders welcome submissions, because saves them spidering the whole WWW every month.

So, new sites, low budget sites, and specialized sites have NO alternative to submissions. Some of the 805,000 sites indexed under "submit site" might be right, after all.

However, if someone says that automatic submissions to lots of SEs-Directories are pointless, I agree. Our list starts form sites with PageRank 10 and goes down to 4.

Second point. We use the term "SE" for both spiders and directories just for the sake of simplicity. As we copy from searchenginewatch.com: "Directories are search engines powered by human beings". We will include this issue in our FAQ to clarify the issue a bit.

There are some design defects in the site that will eventually be corrected. I am not sure about frames. I like using frames in the initial design stage of a website, because they are easy to maintain. And all of my framed sites are well spidered, because the home page has always several links to the site. But I agree that frames are somehow discredited nowadays.

Third point. My point is the time-saving value of an online database for selective submission to the search engines/directories. Selective here means "smart", because we will ask beforehand if the submitter wants is willing to exchange links, to spend time or to pay.

Now, I want to compensate the time of those webmasters who take the time to analyze this posting and to check our website. Thus, I offer them free 1-month accounts in our system. There are 30 of those, first came, first served.

For the "Submission Time Calculator" available at http://www.selectivesubmitter.com/index.php there is no restriction at all. This will help you understand the concept.

For those SE owners with PR 4+, we welcome free inclusion into our database.

    Thanks for reading and helping!

    Sergio

No, most SEs now block automated submitters.
