I don’t seem any logic behind it. If a company does E- press release mostly same news is distributed to PR directories. Ya, but you can say that the while crawling google bot can give more importance to the website where it found the news first.

It won't hurt your website if the content is unique, interesting and informative.

I think he's trying to say, you must focus only one keyword on one page (or site).. is it?

sorry, i missed all your responses. I will be back from my work and read all your responses in detail and then respond.

Here it is from my personal experience.

I have a site with zero content (virtually zero).
However, i have 850 one way incoming links to my site and all of them are 100% relevant incoming links.

My site is blog aggregator and it has PR 5.
My site shows up on page one and most of the time as first result for all the searches done on blog content to which my site points. Google does give importance to incoming links as top priority rather than to the website with original content or quality content.

Coming back to too much content hurting SEO wise.....

Full text search engines usually makes calculations of word distances from each other on pages. They calculate both horizontal and vertical distances of related keywords. They do all sorts of calculations on words which are related etc.

If you have one very long article, it is possible that the author may loose his style and flow in the writeup. This may confuse the readers and also mess up full text search engine calculations resulting in hurting your rankings.

I hope, i didnot confuse you all.
Too much content on one page is not good.

i'm sorry, your arguments just seem wrong and baseless

You talk abt being too long which may cause the author to lose his style. Then you are arguing abt the writer's skills, it has nothing to do with length. Lousy authors can mess up a short piece too, so this has NOTHING to do with length. Same argument goes for confusing readers. It has nothing to do with length and SEO.

How does length 'mess up full text search engine calculations'??? This just seems like a sweeping statement with no justifications. No doubt SE count words and distance between each word, but its definitely not computations that require a supercomputer to achieve. No way can increasing an article's length 'confuse' the SE.

I hope you have good facts to support your arguments or you may end up misleading others. Of course, i don't profess that i'm DEFINITELY right, just saying that your arguments are not sound.

I think too much content will not hurt your website. As long as the contents is related to the theme of your website and it is unique contents. If your website contains unrelated contents maybe it will hurt your website in the process....:)

Oh boy! i better go delete a few pages from all of my sites.

Unique content is always beneficial, no matter what length. In some cases even dupe content is as it can generate backlinks from approving readers.
