Too Much Blogging?

I recently started two new blogs.

A friend of mine believes that if you blog too often, the search engines won't have time to index your articles. He advised me to do one post a day.

However, I have time (and desire) to do more than one post a day.

So, how often is "too often"?

I'd suggest you write and save all your articles and post one each day. You can always add smaller less important posts around your main daily article.

I don't think there is such a thing as too much blogging, too little blogging yes but not too much, I think if you can do more than one a day do it, however after a while people get used to you doing that and you could lose readers when you start reaching a plateau and stop updating so often.
But blogging more frequently get you indexed more, more new content for bots, they like that

actually i blog before users read it in morning,

cause my users expect a new post when they wake up, so i never blog in nights or evenings

From reading around this board and other boards, it appears as if consistency is the key factor when it comes to blogging.

To me, 3+ posts a day is too much and 2 is good enough. One post/day is perfect as long as you keep up the frequency.

Keep it consistent. Between 3 normal articles and one well thought articles, I'd chose the latter ;)

Since I'm trying to get up a handful of blogs, I guess I'll refrain from doing more than on article a day. That way, I can have time to work on the other blogs.

Anything more than once a day is too much for readers - unless they are very short posts -even once a day can be too much if the posts are really long

Too much blogging bring you money. Just stick to once or twice a day, if you are just starting. As you'll get more popular, you'll probably want to go for more content meaning a big article or two per day or just lots of medium ones.

as long as your writing real post (not just summaries pull from rss feeds) you will be ok.

Look at Lifehacker, its updated probably 6 or 7 times a day. People come back to see if there is something new and thus more ad hits. Blogging too much is BS for sure.

I think that you should just stick to one a day and build up some posts just in case you fall sick or go on holiday or something. Work on improving your post more than writing up more. Quality is worth much much more than quantity.

I'm going to wait to see how quickly you burn out. I've learned that I go through 'waves' of creativity with my writing, so I save up blog entries that aren't time sensitive to posts on those days when I don't feel like touching the keyboard.

One of my websites has daily readers from around the world (the majority of which are from the US, UK, and Australia). The time zones and reading habits are different.

So, what I do with that site is write an article when I got to bed and one when I wake up. I at least have something new for someone somewhere.

If your blog has a number of posts on the main page you have nothing to worry about, as you post more articles there will move down the page.

You posts will get indexed by the search engines, if your posts are good you will also get some backlinks.

    Keep on posting.

    Thanks Brian
